Some of Major Projects Handled for Rail Industry :

CAD – Design Engineering Projects:

  • Shunting car Design Engineering & Development for a monorail. From conceptualization to manufacturing drawings, including selection integration & packaging of suitable Diesel Engine, Gear transmission system, Braking & control systems etc. further supported customer till manufacturing and test trials.
  • Worked on many Rail Interior/exterior systems CAD design projects for Rail / Metro /bullet Train applications.
  • CAD - 3D Modification of Central ceiling, Lateral ceiling & Air duct of Metro train.
  • CAD - 3D geometry concept of magnesium casting parts like Arm rest, Table tray, Dust bin & Footrest.
  • Created 3D parametric model of Draft screen & seating system as per Rail standard from given specific area. Further designed Composite mould based on parts (panel)
  • Rail Seat Box - Created 3D Parametric 2D Mfgg drawings dxf files of parts and assembly as per given input step file,
  • Rail interiors Plug/pattern design, Mould design with mould lamination sequence, Panel design with lamination sequence & Jig and fixture design of panel for post lamination operations for Rail interiors /exteriors composite parts.
  • Design of suspension bush assembly fixture
  • Design of Retrofit covers to avoid coal wastage, stopping coal dust to get exposed to the environment, avoiding coal to get exposed to moisture as per Australian Rail standard.
  • Worked on Creation of 2D manufacturing drawings of train wagon

Reverse Engineering / 3D Scanning:

CAE – FEA / CFD Analysis / Virtual Test Simulation / Design Validation Projects:

FEA Test Simulations / Analysis-

  • FE Mesh modelling of several parts and other ancillaries.
  • Dynamic stability analysis of Shunting car as per rails standard using FEA simulation
  • Non-Linear Stress Analysis in order to optimize the deflections in the coupler plate. 3 design analysis iterations were carried out to reduce the deflection to acceptable limits
  • FEA simulation of tow bar of shunting car
  • Non-Linear Stress Analysis in order to predict stress and damage due to fatigue in the lock jaw
  • Train Table FE Analysis as per GMRT2100 for injury prediction using the 50th percentile Hybrid III RS Dummy specially designed for predicting abdomen injuries of a seated passenger in event of train crash or panic braking.
  • FEA Simulation to carry out impact analysis of train table as per APTA PR-CS-S-018-13, Rev. 2. Using Rail Safe 50% Dummy for injury prediction and predict the injuries and suggest changes in the table structure to meet the targets mentioned in APTA standard.
  • Stress analysis on catering unit of trains as per APTA PR-CS-S-018-13, Rev. 2. to predict the failures to passengers. and suggest changes in the tower structure or bolts to meet the targets mentioned in APTA standard.
  • FE Analysis of train towers & design optimization to meet the standards.
